Trisha Yearwood To Perform Indiana Derby Night
Trisha Yearwood, one of country music’s most recognizable stars, will be the headline entertainment for Indiana Derby Night Saturday, Oct. 4. Yearwood will perform at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at Shelby’s Gifts or by calling (765) 642-7223. Tickets for the outdoor event are $65 and $45 with Club Centaur Rewards members receiving a 20% discount.
In addition to eleven number one hits, Trisha Yearwood has been named CMA and ACM Female Vocalist two times each and has been honored with three Grammy Awards. Yearwood has sung at numerous venues, including the 1996 Olympics, The White House, and the Academy Awards.
Yearwood had her first number one hit, “She’s In Love with the Boy,” in the spring of 1991. The native of Monticello, Ga. has also cranked out such greats as “That’s What I Like About You,” “The Woman Before Me,” “XXX’s and OOO’s,” “Thinkin’ About You,” and “A Perfect Love,” all number one hits.
The concert will follow a special day of Thoroughbred racing, which includes the $500,000-added Grade II Indiana Derby. Post time for racing is set for 2 p.m. Seating for the concert will be held in The Yard, which is next to the racetrack, immediately following the racing program, which will conclude at 7 p.m.
