Thursday, Sept. 4 - Post Time: 6:45 p.m.

Race 1

CHEYANNA BELLE – Was a bit green in her 2yo debut over 14 months ago. Trainer Gary Patrick is of to a hot start and you can’t ignore those recent bullet works.

LUV MY SIS – Has been competitive against tougher. A must play at this level.

SHE’S GOT WINGS – Another that should fare better at this level. Should give way late.

UNIVERSAL PRIZE – Nice bullet work. The best of the rest.

Race 2

SPURTABILITY – Consistent trifecta finisher despite having the worst luck at the post draws. Finally draws the rail. Likes the Hoo oval.

MORO PROSPECTOR – Frontrunner dropped to the bottom restricted claiming level for his last start and was much the best. Could win this.

TEE STAIN – Will have his work cut out for him from the outside post.

PL’SHARD KNOT – Capable at this level.

Race 3

There are several possibilities in here.

BEST X EVER – Trainer Stephen Dunn has had a long history of success with Indiana Sired freshmen. Out of a mare that has produced four winners from four starters and is sired by former Indiana Sire of the Year Crown Ambassador.

BOONETOWN GAL – It seems like trainer Mike Nance usually wins a couple 2yo stakes races each meet. Another Black Moonshine sired filly that could make waves.

JULIANNE’S ARIA – Half-sister to stakeswinner Louise’s Love Code. Trainer Dave Paulus generally does well when shipping to Hoosier Park and he gets Mojica to ride.

PAIGE’S BEAUTY – Full sister to multiple stakeswinner Free Bonus and stakeswinner Four Columns. In total, mare Page’s Delight has produced six winners from six starters. The aforementioned stakeswinners were trained by David Norris, but similar success hasn’t translated to trainer Robin Hysell-Berryhill. Has the bloodlines to win.

A sneaky long shot play is RUNAWAY LOVER. Out of a mare that has produced seven winners from seven starters, including Calder stakes placed Silver Challenge.

10-8-2-5

Race 4

DOWNTOWN VICTORY – Hit the board in eight of 12 on the year. Nice fit at this level. Working well over the Hoo oval.

QUATRE V. – Dropped to the bottom claiming level at Fairmont and was a much the best winner with Hernandez in the irons. Moves up to the n3L level and will have it a bit tougher tonight.

VICTORY CHANT / GOLD BLADE – You get two for the price of one in this cheap field. Either of these are capable of hitting the board.

LOUIE’S VERDICT – Should give way in the stretch.

9-6-1/1A-3

Race 5

MONKEY DUST / SHOWGUN – Either of these could win this. The layoff is concerning. With a decent amount of speed in here look for Monkey Dust to get up late. Showgun likely wants more distance and this may be a tune-up for something longer.

VINCERA – One of a few in here not coming off a significant layoff. Nice bullet work. Worth a few W-P-S dollars.

PRINCESS PULL – Nice play at this level. May need a start.

ADDIE KAY – Race ready after competing this summer at Ellis. Had success at Hoo last year.

1/1A-5-9-4

Race 6

MY NEPHEW MATT – Frontrunner drops to the $10K claiming level. Draws the rail and speed should hold.

K.O. POSH – Has been making the best out of poor posts. Another that should continue to fare well at this level.

BRAVE AND SKILLFUL – Could pass a few late.

DRAGON FUSE – He gets Lebron. Who not take a shot on this price.

1-9-6-4

Race 7

DEDIRECT – Moves up to the n2y level after winning at Ellis in his last. Doesn’t face much tonight.

SPORT CAT – Trainer Gary Patrick has been red hot so far in this early met. Should factor against this soft group.

SETTLER – Could pass a few late.

BAIL OUT THE KING – The best of the rest.

4-2-5-6

Race 8

TREAT ME NEAT – Jockey Azael De Leon is off to a fast start in his Hoo debut and he teams up with five time leading Hoo trainer Ralph Martinez. Should benefit from the favorable post and shorter distance.

DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR – Horse for the course has fired a pair of bullet workouts. Looks ready.

PASS PROTECT – Was competitive against tougher last fall at Hoo. It depends on what gelding shows up. Very unpredictable.

POSITIVE CASH FLOW – A nice fit at this level.

2-1A-4-3

Race 9

PRINCESS COMPOSER – Tough to bet against a mare that has registered top-three finishes in 22 of 24 starts since the beginning of 2007. The class of the field should pull through.

SHOWMETHEGREATONE – Trainer Barb McBride claimed this one for $5K out of her last start and moves it up to the starter allowance level rather than dropping it back in for a tag. Must like what she has.

TAWNY TWO SWAN – Racing well this year. A win isn’t out of the question.

ALEXIS’ STAR – Should get passed late.
