Greatest Handicapper Contest at Indiana OTBs
Hoosier Park patrons visiting one of three OTB locations in the state of Indiana will now have a new way to test their handicapping skills. The Greatest Handicapper Contest will take place every Sunday through Oct. 18 at the Merrillville, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis OTB locations.
Club Centaur Rewards members are eligible to pick up a free wagering slip each Sunday during Hoosier Park’s live Thoroughbred racing season. Slips may be picked up beginning at noon until post time of the fourth to last Thoroughbred race. The contest will only take place during the last four Thoroughbred races. Therefore, completed wagering slips must be given to the program seller before the post of the fourth to last Thoroughbred race. Contestants can use the wagering slip to place a $2 win bet. In addition, the contestant can wager a $2 straight exacta bet for the last Thoroughbred race at Hoosier Park.
The handicapper with the highest bankroll after the last Thoroughbred race will win $50 in free wagering. The winner must be present at the time of the announcement to win. The winner will have 15 minutes to come forward. If a winner is not available within 15 minutes, the prize will be awarded to the contestant with the next highest bankroll. If a tie occurs, a drawing will determine the overall winner.
For those patrons who would like to take part in the action but will not be at the OTB locations on Sundays, Hoosier Park offers the Ultimate Handicapper contest for on-track bettors. The Ultimate Handicapper Contest takes place every Thursday at Hoosier Park through Oct. 22. Handicappers can enter to win $250 in race wagering every week with the grand prize set at $1,000 at the end of the contest. Contestants can pick up free wagering slips at any Club Centaur kiosk at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino to prepare for the Thursday night contest.
