He was among the top trainers at Fairmount Park earlier in the season and raced on the Chicago circuit as well. Manley oversees the training of more than 40 horses and rotates horses back and forth between Fairmount Park and Hoosier Park during the season. Manley won his first leading trainer title in Indiana in 2008.

Manley was presented with the leading trainer award by Jeff Smith, general manager of racing, and Brian Elmore, director of racing operations. Also, the HBPA presented Manley with a blanket for his honor as leading trainer. Steve Stults, executive director of the Indiana chapter of HBPA, made the presentation.
